Hate crimes simply don’t happen at our universities and colleges. Nonetheless, they are reported by ginned up, woke students all the time. Here are 14 that turned out to be lies.
Granted there are dozens that turn out to be lies because they are all lies. But The College Fix took the time to track down 14 of them for us in a year-in-review piece.
Not only do they have 14 fake hate crimes, but they’ve added six more that are likely false but have not yet been proven.
The first one is the false claim that Duke volleyball player Rachel Richardson was repeatedly called the n-word by a fan in the stands at Brigham Young University.
Richardson still maintains it happened, but investigators reviewed audio and video and interviewed dozens of people who attended the game, and not one shred of evidence was ever found that anyone yelled anything at all at Richardson.
Richardson lied. Period.
That is the story that got the most attention this year in college fake hate crimes. But there are many more hoaxes out there.
The Fix site went on with incident number two: “A black student at the University of Utah melded together two claims to assert that the KKK recruited on campus and smeared poop on a black student’s door.”
There were also fake hate crime reports at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, a New York Catholic high school, the University of Virginia, Cambridge, Harvard, Curry College in Massachusetts, and more.
These were all reports that turned out to be hoaxes after investigators looked into them.
