Israel’s president is looking at the chaos swirling around American universities and he sees something that looks uncomfortably similar to some of Europe’s darkest days in recent history.
Just because we’ve enjoyed a period of relative success and stability doesn’t mean it will carry on forever. Such things need to be nurtured and maintained… and protected from malevolent actors who see America itself as an obstacle to their grander plans and would like nothing better than to see us tear ourselves apart.
A look at the chaos on our campuses lately is a reminder of how easily crowd dynamics can be manipulated into becoming a full-blown mob. That, in turn, is just a few short steps from the kind of revolution that topples governments.
We all saw how out of hand things got in 2020, at least until whoever was funding them decided the violence was pushing public opinion in the wrong direction.
Joe Biden has remained conspicuously silent on an issue that even Justin Freaking Trudeau has had at least a glimmer of belated moral clarity on.
There is a difference between peaceful protest and hateful intimidation.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, has been caught red-handed doing the ‘very fine people on both sides’ defense of the indefensible he has been (falsely_ accusing Trump of doing since at least 2019.
Since Joe is asleep at the wheel in America, (and could never truly denounce the ‘protests’ his own biggest donors have been bankrolling) Netanyahu has stepped up and denounced the racial violence sweeping campuses in America.
It’s an issue that affects Jews, obviously, since it has been explicitly calling for violence even against local Jewish people… but if history is any guide, it’s about much, MUCH more than that.

If we had a leader of any quality at all in office, he’d be saying so.
